Abstract
Background: the disease caused by the new coronavirus leads to respiratory disorders, physical and psychological disorders that impair the quality of life of individuals even when they are considered cured of the infection. Knowing the limitations caused by the disease can guide the treatment aimed at gaining functionality and resuming these people’s daily activities. Aim: to measure the quality of life, impact of the disease, functionality and cardiorespiratory fitness of patients after COVID-19 infection in the city of Diamantina using the CIF model through validated instruments for the Brazilian population. Methods: this is a longitudinal study in which patients with Post-Covid-19 Syndrome were evaluated in the pre-and post-pulmonary rehabilitation period. To assess the quality of life-related to health, the Patient Generated Index (PGI) questionnaire was used, to analyze the impact of dyspnea and post-covid-19 functional status, the COPD Assessment Test (CAT) and the Functional Status Scale were used. Post-Covid-19 (PCFS); functional capacity and lower limb strength were assessed using the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) and the sit-to-stand test (TSL1). Patients were followed for approximately 10 weeks twice a week. Results: a total of 29 adult patients were included in the survey. There was a significant improvement in the following parameters: PGI (p = 0.006), 6MWT (p = 0.002), TSL1 (p = 0.008) and CAT(p=0.040). Conclusion: the results of this study show improvements in all outcomes analyzed in PostCovid-19 patients undergoing pulmonary rehabilitation over a 10-week period.
